Our bespoke packages provide an extensive online athlete profile featuring Personal Information, Golf Skills & Academic Achievements with exclusive video content captured at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy.

This provides college coaches with incredible insights into the students personal, golf and academic abilities, differentiating them from other university applicants, optimising scholarship opportunities.

3Entrance exam

Registering for an SAT entrance exam is often one of the initial tasks for prospective student-athletes.

SAT exam preparation and exam sittings will be provided by the JFGAs Education Partner, Sotogrande International School as a part of the Elite Sport Education Programme.

4Clear eligibility center requirements

Registering with the relevant eligibility centres and submitting the necessary documentation is another vital task for most prospective student-athletes. This step ensures your clearance to compete at the collegiate level. The review and clearance process can take several months and must be completed before universities offering 4 year degree courses can process the application and provide the I-20 form required for obtaining a student visa. Failure to meet eligibility centre criteria may result in complications presenting students from representing the college golf team until the complications are resolved.

5Negotiate Scholarships

Once the profile has been shared with appropriate US college coaches, we will collaborate with the students to negotiate the best possible financial package from the interested colleges. The negotiation phase is crucial and can extend over several months, as both parties need to ensure a mutually beneficial agreement. Universities are potentially investing up to $250,000 in a student-athlete during their collegiate career, making recruitment a serious endeavour.

6Commit to your chosen college

After engaging with coaches from the colleges that have expressed interest, you can make an informed decision about which institution you would like to represent during your collegiate career. Upon notification, the chosen college will send you a national letter of intent, solidifying your commitment to play for them and outlining the awarded scholarship amounts.

7Clear admissions process

Following your commitment to a college, the next step involves receiving clearance from the admissions department. Throughout this stage, JFGA Scholarships will provide comprehensive support, guiding you through the necessary procedures.

8VISA Approval

One of the final, yet immensely significant, stages is obtaining approval for your student visa from the U.S Embassy. This step can only occur once you have received clearance from your chosen university’s admissions department.
