Maria Khristenko

My name is Maria Khristenko. I have been playing golf since the age of 6. From the moment I started playing, I fell in love with the sport- and with the hard challenges it brings. Over the years, golf has become more than a game, it became my life, without golf, I wouldn't be who I am today. One of the many key lessons golf has taught me is how important it is to never give up. It's taught me that to grow you must suffer. You have to fail, you have to start all over, learn, fight through setbacks but still show up every single day. Even when times get tough, you still have to work hard and show up every day, thats how you become unbeatable. College in the U.S is where I want to take my next step. I see this as an incredible opportunity- not only to compete at a higher level- but to grow as a person, student and athlete. I am not afraid, I will not settle for average. College in America is the best place to make your dreams come true, and I am willing to keep pushing until I reach my full potential. I'm competitive, self-motivated and disciplined. I take every possibility to listen, learn and adapt. As a person, I am extroverted, outgoing and full of energy. I love working and connecting with people, I care about people around me, I try to bring a positive and resilient attitude into everything I do. I know who I am, and I know where I am going. I am ready to give everything I have to a college that believes in ambition, hard work and building great teams on and of the course.
